To accompany the heritage restoration of Elizabeth Baillie House, the Town has commenced work on a major upgrade to Elizabeth Baillie Park. The $8.1 million redevelopment will introduce a range of new community facilities, with a strong focus on accessibility and supporting people with disabilities. Key features include:
- The Mildred Creak Playground, supported by Lotterywest. Designed in collaboration with Autism Association WA, the purpose-built play area will cater to the needs of neurodiverse children.
- An amphitheatre and performance space for community events.
- New pathways, seating, and BBQ facilities to enhance public amenity.
- Nature play areas and a dedicated space for indigenous art.
- A fully accessible toilet block and Changing Places facility.
The park upgrade is being delivered alongside the heritage restoration of Elizabeth Baillie House, which is already underway, ensuring the site’s history is preserved while creating an exciting new space for the community.
The detailed design for the park upgrade was endorsed by Council in August 2023. Click below to view the Council report and design documents.

Lotterywest Grant
In December 2024, the Town proudly secured a $2.2 million Lotterywest grant to support the redevelopment of Elizabeth Baillie Park.
The Lotterywest grant will help fund two key elements of the park upgrade: a fully accessible Changing Places toilet block, and a purpose-built playground for neurodiverse children, designed in collaboration with the Autism Association of Western Australia.
