The Town of Victoria Park will host some of the best skateboarders in Australia this month as the National 2026 BMD Rumble Pro Tour touches down at McCallum Park Active Area.
Sponsored by the Town, the Rumble in the West will be held on Saturday 31 October and Sunday 1 November, serving as the final event of the national circuit and giving Western Australians the chance to compete for $20,000 in prizes.
Event and overall tour champions will be crowned at the closing podium, with the Rumble’s Skate Australia partnership allowing competitors to earn ranking points towards national team selection and a potential Olympic pathway.
“We’re thrilled to sponsor the Rumble in the West, provide opportunities for local skateboarders and showcase the revitalised McCallum Park Active Area. It’s become a favourite location for locals and visitors alike, and nation-wide tours like the Rumble serve to cement its status as one of the best places in the country to get out and have a go,” said Mayor Karen Vernon.
Rumble General Manager Matt Wilson said: “There’s a really strong skateboarding community in Perth and the great state of WA. We’re super excited given the investment the Town of Victoria Park has made in a new skate park, and we can’t wait to see everyone charging it! We want to thank the Town for their vision and support for this event, and we’re proud to include it as part of our National Tour.”
October marks one year since the McCallum Park Active Area was revitalised, with improvements including a skateable plaza, new flow bowl and eye-catching large-scale artworks from local artists Chris Nixon and Kamsani Bin Salleh.
The precinct sits right across the Boorloo Bridge from the CBD and is fully accessible by public transport, pedestrian and cycle paths.
