Homelessness Week is taking place 3-9 August and aims to raise awareness of the impact of homelessness, and the solutions and actions we can take to end it.
According to the latest Census data, 122,494 people were estimated to be experiencing homelessness in Australia, with 23% of those people aged between 12-24 years old. Over 5,700 people were estimated to be experiencing homelessness in the Greater Perth region alone.
We are holding a donation drive for local charities between 3-14 August. Donations will directly assist people experiencing homelessness in our community.
If you have the means, we’d love donations including:
Personal hygiene:
- Toothbrushes, toothpaste, and dental floss
- Soap bars or body wash
- Hand wash or sanitiser
- Shampoo and conditioner
- Deodorant (roll-on or stick)
- Wet wipes or baby wipes
- Tissues
- Lip balm
Period products:
- Sanitary pads and liners
- Tampons
General:
- Sunscreen
- Insect repellent
- Hand cream
- Comb or hairbrush
- Nail clippers
- Cotton buds
- Adhesive bandages (Band-Aids)
- Basic first-aid supplies
- Nappies
Please ensure all items are unopened/unused.
Drop-off locations:
- Library - 27 Sussex Street, East Victoria Park
- Leisurelife – corner of Kent & Gloucester Streets, East Victoria Park
- Aqualife - 42 Somerset Street, East Victoria Park

Volunteers play a vital role in creating a connected community - during Homelessness Week and throughout the year!
Volunteering can create a sense of belonging and achievement, provide opportunities to meet new friends and networks, and build confidence.
