Aqualife Feasibility Study

Project Type: Projects

The Town of Victoria Park is commencing a feasibility study to explore the future of Aqualife, the Town’s aquatic and fitness centre. As part of this process, the Town will also investigate whether the facilities, programs and services currently delivered at Leisurelife could be integrated into a future redevelopment at the Aqualife site.

Funded through the Town’s 2026-27 Budget, this project is currently focused solely on the feasibility stage. The study will look at the opportunities, challenges and constraints associated with the Aqualife site, and how the Town’s leisure facilities can best meet the current and future needs of our growing community.

The feasibility study will consider a range of factors, including facility condition, service delivery requirements, community needs, population trends, site limitations and long-term sustainability.

This initial stage will provide Council with the evidence and insights needed to make an informed, data-driven decision on whether to progress to the next phase of planning and investigation.

Planning for the future of these facilities will ensure our residents continue to have access to high-quality recreation facilities that support a healthy, active and connected community.

Frequently Asked Questions

When will Aqualife be redeveloped?

It’s too early to determine whether or when a redevelopment of Aqualife may occur.

Any future redevelopment would be subject to further planning, business case development, funding considerations, community consultation and Council deliberation. The outcomes of the feasibility study will help inform any future steps.

How much will this cost?

The cost of any potential redevelopment is not yet known and will depend on the options identified through the feasibility study.

The funding required for the feasibility study was approved by Council as part of the 2026-2027 budget process.

Who will be consulted?

As part of the feasibility study, the Town will undertake targeted engagement with key stakeholders, including facility users, sporting and community groups, service providers, industry specialists and relevant government agencies.

Should the project progress beyond the feasibility stage, broader community consultation will be undertaken to seek feedback from residents, users and the wider community on any proposed plans or redevelopment options.

How do I make sure my views are considered?

Because the project is in its very early stages, the scope of the feasibility study does not include community consultation at this stage. If the project progresses beyond the feasibility study stage, the Town will undertake a comprehensive community consultation where everyone will have an opportunity to share their views. However, if you have an important point to raise, you’re welcome to contact the project team by emailing the Town at admin@vicpark.wa.gov.au (titled "Aqualife Feasibility Study").
