The Town of Victoria Park’s best businesses have been recognised for their contributions at the community’s night of nights – the Vic Park Business Awards.

Expanding to 13 categories this year, underscoring the variety of industries and breadth of talent in the Town, there was plenty to celebrate at the gala event held at Crown on 30 October.

“With over 4,500 businesses throughout the Town, our Business Awards have rightfully grown to become one of our most anticipated social events,” Mayor Karen Vernon said.

“Our local businesses are integral to our community, creating jobs, bringing our streets to life and helping create Vic Park’s unique character. The annual Business Awards are a wonderful opportunity to celebrate the passion, creativity and entrepreneurial spirit of the people who make our local economy thrive.”

Winning the much-coveted Business of the Year award was longstanding non-profit Connect Victoria Park, which supports ageing in the community through housing for seniors, and supports wellbeing and connection through its Village Hub programs.

Capping off a big night for Connect Victoria Park, it shared the inaugural Non-Profit of the Year award with grassroots champions Activate Mental Health, narrowly besting a crowded field of worthy nominees.

Archer St Physiotherapy Founder Patrick Renner was named inaugural Business Leader of the Year, Sizzle N Sambar Indian Restaurant topped the poll for the People’s Choice Award and, after almost 130 years since it first opened, Albany Hwy institution the Broken Hill Hotel was inducted into the Business Awards Hall of Fame.
