The Town is commencing works to upgrade the playground softfall at John Macmillan Park, replacing the existing bark mulch with a new rubber surface.
While bark mulch is a common playground material, it can attract or conceal hazards such as sharps, broken glass and litter. The new rubber softfall will provide a cleaner, safer and lower-maintenance surface for playground users.
The upgrade will also improve accessibility for wheelchairs and prams, while significantly reducing ongoing maintenance requirements for the Town.
Works are scheduled to take place from 4 to 12 November. During this period, the playground area will be temporarily fenced off and unavailable while the upgrade is completed.
