Works notice - road resurfacing and works at Harper Street

Published on Thursday, 22 January 2026 at 9:42:18 AM

A contractor has been engaged by the Town to undertake road resurfacing and associated works at Harper Street, East Victoria Park, between Shepperton Road and Teague Street, and a section of Sunbury Street from Clydesdale Street to Harper Street.

Final asphalt road resurfacing works (replacement of existing surface) are scheduled to be undertaken on Tuesday 27 January with installation of two raised plateaus on the intersections to follow on Sunday 1 February, subject to interruption by inclement weather.

The works taking place may restrict access to and from properties within the work zone, this is necessary to avoid damage to the road, driveways, and vehicles, as well as to ensure safe passage through the site. Please park any vehicles you need outside the work zone before 7am on the day of works. Traffic controllers will assist with safe entry and exit, and may give residents a 10–15 minute notice before access is restricted.

Access during works:

  • Friday 23 January (7am - 6pm): Restricted access during profiling of tie-ins and asphalt driveways.
  • Tuesday 27 January (7am - 6pm): No access during final layer of asphalt. Harper Street from Shepperton Road to Kitchener Ave, and Sunbury Street from Clydesdale Street to Harper Street.
  • Sunday 1 February (7am - 6pm): No access during installation of raised plateaus. Intersections of Harper Street and Teague Street, and intersection of Harper Street and Sunbury Street.

To help us complete the project on time, please keep vehicles off the road, kerb and verge between Sunbury Street and Shepperton Road.
