The Town has received a development application for a Commercial Development (Childcare Premises and 2 x Office Tenancies) at the above-mentioned property. The value of the development is estimated to be $2.35 million. The proposed development is summarised as follows:

• A two-storey building
• Two commercial tenancies on the ground floor
• A child care centre (to accommodate up to 85 children) on the upper floor
• Car park containing 26 bays, accessed from the right-of-way

In accordance with Local Planning Policy 37 – Community Consultation on Planning Proposals, you are invited to comment on the following:

• Proposed Use - A childcare premises is classified as an “A” (discretionary use) within the Mixed Use zone under Local Planning Scheme No. 2.
  An “A” use means that the use is not permitted unless the local government has exercised its discretion by granting development approval after advertising the application.
