The Town has announced its Community Planting Days for 2026.
Bring your friends and family out and join our Urban Forest team as they get the next generation of native trees in the ground, furthering the Town's journey towards 20% canopy cover.
This year, the first Community Planting Day will take place Sunday 14 June on Baron Hay Court in Kensington, on the perimeter of our treasured Jirdarup banksia woodland. Come as you are and borrow a spade, and help us sow the trees of tomorrow!
Keen for more? Our second event will take place Sunday 12 July and revisit the corner of Hayman Road and Brodie-Hall Drive where we've spent the past four years creating an ecological corridor extending south from Jirdarup Bushland. You can see how the project has progressed here.
Planting days will also feature extra activities and demonstrations (and provide great photo ops for all involved!).
