Like many of us, the bins of Vic Park might need a little extra time to get going after Christmas and New Year's Eve, so check for these changes.

The Town of Victoria Park strongly condemns the Environmental Protection Authority's decision not to undertake any level of review of the State Government’s proposed Burswood racetrack.

This week, the Town completed a review into the landscaping and construction works associated with the Elizabeth Baillie Park upgrade. The review has shown that a number of trees were not adequately protected during construction, resulting in the removal of more trees than originally planned. This outcome falls well short of the Town’s expectation and our community, and we accept full responsibility.

The Town of Victoria Park regrets to advise that two mature pine trees at the Elizabeth Baillie development site have died and will need to be removed. The trees now pose a significant safety risk due to their deteriorating condition. Removal works are scheduled to take place this Saturday, 18 October 2025.

The Town of Victoria Park has urged the Environmental Protection Authority (EPA) to undertake a Public Environmental Review (PER) of the proposed Perth Entertainment and Sporting Precinct (PESP), citing concerns about significant environmental and social impacts of the PESP.

Recent media reports suggest that Councils in the South West are considering scrapping FOGO collections due to high levels of contamination and a lack of local FOGO processing options.  The Town of Victoria Park’s new FOGO collection contract provides for our organic waste to be processed through Western Metropolitan Regional Council (WMRC) in Shenton Park.
